In case you've never heard of my at-large running mates, and let's be honest, outside of Tony Soprano, who has, the following is for you.
Michael LoPorto- Owns a restaurant. Swears a lot. Likes cigars. Running because, well, he says economic development. But here's the real reason- he's mad at Mayor Harry. You see, they're related. And Michael thought he was entitled to run the restaurant at Frear Park because of that relationship. We know Michael was right, and Harry made a mistake. How can you not give the concession to a relative. It doesn't make sense. Ed McDonough is rolling over in his grave right now just thinking about. So that's why Michael is running. He's mad.
Clem Clampana- Clem is a nice guy, constantly screwing over the City with his Zoning Board position. Want another used car lot on Lansingburgh? Who doesn't? How about a clothing store in North Central. Bingo-bango. You see, the Zoning Board is the last thing us Democrats control in Troy, and gosh darn it, we'll do everything we can to disrupt progress. It's the Dem Way! And Clem is doing his best! If you want garbage, Clem's the guy.
Robert Martiniano- Ummm, yeah, I have no idea who this guy is. He's got the personality of War and Peace. And coming from me, that's saying something. Good luck Rob. Whoever you are.

What a cool blog! I was just searching Blogger for Loporto and I came across this site. I can't believe Mike is running for city council as a Democrat. I used to work for him at his restaurants, mostly in Troy but sometimes Albany. I was bored so I started searching for people I know. He hated the Democrats. He made fun of a lot of them especially Hillary Clinton. He used to pick on some blind guy that was in the Assembly, I think. The guy was black and Mike hated blacks. He treated the black guys that worked in Albany like crap. He could really be mean sometimes. He called them all crackheads and took advantage of them by paying them cash under the table. Thats why I left, I wanted to be on the books for all of the hours I would work, but he refused. I made good money waiting tables, but I wanted to be on the books for all of the side jobs he would have me go to. I still can't believe he's running for council. I would never vote for him, he treats people like shit, but a lot people seemed to like him. A friend who still works in the Sign of the Tree told be he was in trouble with the state and might get kicked out. He probably deserved it. Somebody in Troy should investigate him for real, he is sneaky. Whoever you are that is running for election with him, you better think twice, I wouldn't be bragging about him too much.
That at large slate is an impressive list of Roman warriors. A cigar chomping chef, a lifelong Democrat hanger on, and the cause of the fall of Troy. How is that you ask? As part of the Troy Housing Authority his policies recruited more poverty stricken, alcoholics, criminals, and NYC gang members to our fair city to live in our public housing. Now they have taken over our streets and our schools. Thanks Clem. Martiniano is new to this but I must say, I've seen him and judging by his hairdo he looks like a medieval warrior. He'd look tough in a red beret marching around with Sliwa. Actually, they would make a great crime fighting team. Campana could get the criminals into a THA apartment, Loporto would come to the door and atttack them with his ashtray breath and start trying to talk to them about why they should vote for him. That would cause most people to scratch their heads till death just trying to understand him. To finish off the now dazed THA resident/criminal, Martiniano would show up and subdue the perpetrator using his sweet numchuck skills. Who needs the Guardian Angels? We've got the At Large Ligers. Liger, you ask? They are a cross between a tiger and a lion. They are bred for their skills in magic. Peace out
